AKS TFSi Oil Pump Balance Shaft Delete Modification

Inside every TFSi EA113 engine, there is an oil pump, inside these are balance shafts. These shafts are designed to help dampen engine vibration. While the intention is good, they can cause issues resulting in catastrophic engine failure. When the balance shafts seize in place, they will stop the oil pump from working, completely starving the engine of oil resulting in your engine being severely damaged.

In house here at AKS we start off with a stock oil pump assembly, remove the balance shafts on our in house mill, then modify the oil channels to create a far improved part over the stock item, eradicating the balance shafts entirely. On high power applications and forged engines this is a highly recommended modification to remove the failure risk the shafts present.

There is a lot of discussion online in forums and FB groups regarding doing this modification in another way, using the old 1.8T 20V oil pumps. Doing that modification requires a lot of work including drilling and tapping oil lines into the block itself. This hassle can be avoided with the AKS balance shaft delete mod as its a straightforward swap, minus the worry of balance shafts ever again. Another benefit of our modification above the 1.8T style mod is that it does not cause oil pressure fluctuation issues.

There are 2 ways of purchasing this modification.

1. Send us your existing Oil pump first, we will inspect and advise if the unit sent in is suitable for us to use and turn into a mofidied unit. We will then send you an already modified assembly from our stock, in return.

or

2. Pay a £300 surcharge fee and upon return of your old assembly we will inspect and ensure the assembly is useable, then refund the surcharge.

Important Information, Please Note

- Your existing TFSI oil pump must be in full working order to qualify for either of the dropdowns, exchange or not. We are able to offer this modification only via a steady supply of original units that we then convert.

- We strongly advise to change the balance shaft securing bolts, to make life easy we have put together a kit which you can purchase seperately - HERE

- You will need to install the VIS SOLID sprocket with this modification. It is an option in the drop down menu above only in case you already have this part ready to install / Purchased seperately before. If you havent previously purchased a SOLID sprocket, you will need to select this dropdown! If you have previously purchased / have fitted a VIS freewheel, you will still need to select the solid sprocket dropdown as the freewheel should not be used with this full delete.

- The images in this listing show a VIS solid sprocket fitted, this is only included if you select it from the dropdown options!

- As the oil pick up pipe bolts to this assembly, we would advise to also replace the pick up pipe & seal whilst doing the swap.
