AKS Tuning TFSi Cam Follower to TSi Cam Roller Conversion Kit

The AKS TFSi roller conversion kit is the ideal solution to eliminate the cam follower on EA113 2.0 engines which is common to fail and break resulting in a damaged high pressure fuel pump (HPFP), lobe on the camshaft and potentially damage to the engine.

The idea of this kit is to replace the cam follower with the later VAG EA888 TSi roller. In this kit you will get all the items required for the conversion to work. 

Once this kit is fitted there is no need to check or replace the roller as it will not wear like a cam follower. So whilst not only a reliable upgrade, the roller kit offers piece of mind that there will be no potential future damage caused by a worn and failing cam follower.

Adapter colour, silver or black?

This is just colour / finish preference, the parts are exactly the same besides the colour.

Select what fuel pump you have?

-With a stock HPFP fitted with standard internals, you will need the standard pump (includes HPFP Spring) Dropdown option.

-With a stock HPFP fitted, but with uprated VIS / Autotech internals fitted inside the pump, you use the standard spring. The dropdown required is 'Uprated Pump'

-With a Loba / other full HPFP kit you would use the standard spring. The dropdown required is 'Uprated Pump'

Select your engine code?

-The AXX engine side case is slightly different from all others, if you have an AXX engine, please select the AXX dropdown option.

-All other TFSI engine codes, for example CDL, BHZ, BYD, BWA and so on, please select the 'Other' dropdown option

Sending my side case first?

If you select the 'Yes' dropdown once you have placed the order, you will need to send your existing side case to AKS with your details inside the packaging so we can identify the sender, before we can proceed.

We will upon receipt of your side case check the condition and if all is good will provide you with a machined side case to enable you to fit the roller conversion kit, along with all of the other parts.

We keep the original side casing you send in, and we will machine this to be used for another kit in the future.

Ordering this way means you do not have to pay the surcharge like the 'No' option below, but will only be suitable if the car is already off the road, engine being built, or you have your own spare side casing etc.

If you select the 'No' dropdown You will notice selecting this option adds £200 to the price of the kit, this £200.00 is a surcharge which is refundable. This will be explained in more detail below.

Once you have placed the order, we will send you one of our existing machined side cases for you to fit onto your engine with the rest of the roller kit.

Once you have fitted the new kit and removed your old side casing, please send the old side casing back to AKS with your details inside the packaging so we can identify the sender. Upon receipt of your old side casing we will inspect the part and if the condition is all good, we will issue you a refund of the surcharge value you have already paid, which is £200.00.

We will keep the original side casing you have returned to us and it will be machined for another kit in the future.

Ordering using the surcharge means you can continue to use and drive your vehicle until your kit arrives, hence may be a more suitable option depending on your circumstance when compared to the non surcharge option above.

·      Fitting this Roller Conversion Kit can cause extra noise from the engine bay, this is completely normal with the roller fitted. If when fitted you want to confirm the noise is normal, please send a video over to our AKS facebook messenger and we will listen and confirm for you.

·      If you order using the surcharge applicable dropdown, upon receipt of your side casing we can only refund you via the payment method you paid with originally. For example, if you paid on a card through our website, we can only refund the surcharge via the card you paid with, through our websites refund system.

·      If on the receipt of your existing side casing there is damage that means we cannot proceed, we will contact you to inform you immediately and discuss.
