AKS Tuning DeadSet Front Subframe Rigid Collar Kit For PQ35 Platform - AKSDSKF

Subframe noises, clunks, pops, creaks, clicks, the list goes on… if you own a PQ35 platform vehicle you will be familiar with all the above. This is a frustrating issue that is most noticeable when turning from the road onto dropped kerb driveways, pulling away from a standstill, in traffic or from stationary, parked on a hill and moving away, and coming to a stop.

The issue is caused by the original VAG subframe bolts not fully securing the subframe in one place, and the design of the original bolts allowing slight movement of the subframe to occur. This translates to the noises you can hear in certain scenarios, and feedback through the wheel / vehicle.

The VAG group have created their own fix for this same issue, by using different bolts and shims as part of a TPI (Technical Product Information - Bulletin) But most feedback from owners is that after a while of the new bolts being fitted, the noises return as the subframe begins to shift once more.

One other irritating aspect of this, because the subframe can move, this can cause wheel alignments to slowly shift out of place, and the feedback when operating the vehicle through the wheel to not be as communicative as you may expect.

There are many deadset kits on the market, but this one is ours. A long term AKS project to create the best possible option on the market. The premise of a deadset kit is mostly given away in the name of the product, by using a series of collars and bolts you are then able to fully secure the subframe in place, stopping any movement, 'dead-setting' it for the future once tightened up.

Our collars are manufactured from solid 954 bronze alloy, to our requirements by a local machine shop in the UK. 954 bronze alloy is chosen for its high strength and corrosion resistant characteristics, making it the perfect choice for the job.

Our custom bolts are produced from Swedish tool steel, also chosen for its toughness and corrosion resistance qualities.

The kit will include...

- x12 AKS 954 Bronze Alloy Deadset Collars

- x2 AKS Custom Swedish Tool Steel Bolts (70nm)

- x4 Genuine VAG Bolts - N91039802

Please Note...

- This kit is only for PQ35 models, with alloy subframes. The only exclusion is the MK2 TT / TTS / TTRS which will require a separate kit - Here

- This kit will not fit any MQB models (We are working on a kit for MQB, TBC!!)

- This kit will not fit any B6 or B7 Passat models, including the R36 Passat - These models require a separate kit - Here

- The third image in this listing highlights where you fit each collar and bolt.

- These kits are designed to be an incredibly tight fit for them to work for their intended purpose.
