For years now, a major gripe of the EA113 2.0 TFSI engine has been the factory plastic oil filter housing, most recent part number 06F115397K, its rubbish! We must have replaced more than our fair share of them in our workshop. They go brittle over time and crack causing an oil leak that makes an absolute mess of the car, and the workshop floor. Couple that issue with cars producing far more power than standard, needing additional oil cooling for hard / track usage and you end up with a part that really isn't up to scratch. You have no way to run any oil cooler fittings from the stock filter housing without using a sandwich plate, which is all well and good but this takes up a lot of space in an allready cramped area of the engine bay, and you are still left with the stock, substandard housing fitted.
This is a part we have wanted to address for as long as we have been working on TFSI platform vehicles, and we are very excited to offer this in 2024. Our AKS ultimate oil cooler solution for the TFSI platform, a billet alloy filter housing, with a built in thermostat and the ability to run an oil cooler directly from the filter housing, no more plastic!
Unlike a lot of other oil cooler solutions, this kit will still enable you to retain the factory PCV system, if you select the AKS AN to stock breather adapter dropdown you will be able to plumb this straight into the PCV system. Or, you can run this housing without the stock PCV if desired, the choice is yours. The housing also fits with both stock and uprated / aftermarket throttle pipes without clearance issues.
The kit is designed to use a spin on metal style oil filter rather than the stock paper TFSI oil filter, we recommend the earlier VAG 1.8T (BAM, AGU, etc...) Filter - Genuine part number 06A115561B (x1 filter is included with the housing, we also sell them on our website separately - Here)
The billet filter housing also works with the 1.8T oil pump conversion mod too, and from customer feedback has also helped fix hard to chase oil pressure issues caused from carrying out this conversions modifications to the oil pump assembly. Another result!
The housing is available with a few select options to allow you to purchase just the housing, or the housing with extra parts as you require. In the images for this product we will add descriptions so its as easy as possible to work out what you are getting with or without the dropdowns you select.
