Racingline Power Control Module (PCM) For Audi RS3 8Y OPF Models - VWR030001RS38Y
Racinglines Power Control Module For The Audi RS3 8Y
Racingline Power Control Module (PCM) For Audi RS3 8Y OPF Models - VWR030001RS38Y
PCM stands for 'Power Control Module' and is RacingLine's new tuning solution, developed exclusively in this instance for the Audi RS3 8Y with the 2.5 TFSI EA855 Evo engine.
PCM works on a standalone PCB, which communicates with the vehciles factory engine control unit (ECU) . Developed by RacingLine's own in-house calibration team over the past 12 months, it allows the car to safely increase power and torque levels.
The results are impressive on the RS3. Expect a power increase to 450ps and 601Nm. Not only that, but these are beautifully smooth and progressive gains, with increases right throughout the rev-range.
Supplied with a full install kit for simple fitment, and easily removed at any time without a trace.
Power figures for the Audi RS3 8Y (OPF Equipped models only) 400PS 2.5 TFSI EA855 Evo
400ps Standard, PCM sees an increase to around 450ps
500Nm (369 lb/ft) standard, PCM sees an increase to around 601Nm (442 lb/ft)
Free Upgrade Path
As a Racingline distributor and authorised technical centre, RacingLine will give AKS Tuning PCM purchasers a free upgrade to the OEM+ software calibrations as soon as they are available, if they purchase their PCM through AKS Tuning.
In order to do this you must register your PCM unit using the form in the link below in the 'Register Your Device' section.
Being a part of the OEM+ family, the PCM is eligible for free engine ECU calibration upgrades to Stage 1, 1+, and beyond (if available). This will allow the original purchaser to exchange their PCM box with us and receive their free* OEM+ tuned calibration for their ECU just as soon as it's available.

Does installing a PCM affect manufacturer vehicle warranty?
It’s very clear – any tuning modification on your vehicle can invalidate your manufacturer’s engine & powertrain warranty. So if your dealer sees the PCM fitted, then they’d be entitled to reject a warranty claim on the engine or drivetrain.
Of course, PCM is fully removable. With it removed, the car is returned to true stock, but whilst PCM leaves minimal trace to the ECU, it’s important to understand that there is no guarantee that this product is warranty safe and is installed at the customers’ own risk.
Can i install at home?
PCM has a simple installation procedure, providing you have a basic level of mechanical knowledge. The PCM unit sits above the battery, using the provided carbon fibre battery mount and hardware, while the wiring loom is plugged into existing sensors found at the top of the engine. Or for full peace of mind, all of our approved PCM dealers around the world can also install this for you, subject to labour charges.
How does PCM work and intergrate with the vehicle?
PCM works by using our in-house developed calibration running on our standalone PCB, which communicates in parallel with the factory ECU.
This communication route allows the PCM to safely optimise a variety of electronic sensor signals in real time, interfacing between the engine controls and its sensors. With multiple channels such as charge air pressure, ignition and fuelling controlled by the PCM computer, the result is increased power and torque across the whole powerband of the engine.
We have carried tens of thousands of development miles of rigorous testing on our in-house dyno, on road and on track with numerous calibrations, across multiple cars and different hardware installations, allowing us to find the sweet spot for engine performance, drivability and safety.
Will this only work on a cpmpletely stock vehicle, or will i require hardware parts to be installed?
Right from the outset, PCM has been developed in conjunction with RacingLine's latest Performance Parts range.
Whilst PCM has been developed to work perfectly on an unmodified stock car, it has also been calibrated to self-adapt to take full advantage of any RacingLine upgrades.
So adding a RacingLine intake, air filer or our turbo inlet systems where available will really let the PCM extract the most from your engine.
What grade of fuel can i use with the PCM fitted?
PCM has been designed to work with different fuel grades around the world, just like factory calibration does. Meaning it's perfectly safe, whatever grade fuel you put in your tank. However, using a lower fuel grade will result in less power, meaning that a premium octane fuel is always advised.
How does PCM compare to a RacingLine ECU calibration?
We're completely honest about this: the PCM calibration is not as sophisticated as our OEM+ calibrations are.
To keep the car smooth, safe and reliable, PCM's power levels have to be kept lower than our OEM+ Stage 1 calibrations.
But of course, you'll love the power boost you get from PCM, combined with the drivability and efficiency gains. And with our free upgrade program, you can have a free OEM+ calibration as soon as it's available if that's the way you want to go!
What comes included in the kit?
Simple. Everything you need for install, in a kit specifically built for your car, whether fitted with the 2.0 TSI, 2.5 TFSI or 2.0 TDI engine.
As well as the PCM box with its beautiful billet case, a carbon fibre bracket mounts it perfectly on top of the battery. The wiring loom is to the perfect length for your car. Lastly, a deactivation plug is included, should you ever choose to temporarily disconnect your PCM
Is PCM removable?
PCM is completely removable, with no changes to be made to the hardware or software of the original car. We also include a PCM blanking unit, which plugs into the existing wiring loom and removes the PCM calibration, without having to remove any of the installed hardware.
