Genuine VAG Tailgate Water Drainage Hose for Golf MK7 - 510827861A

This drainage hose sits in the rear tailgate of MK7 Golf models and is there to catch and drain water that collects around the VW badge / boot handle. As the MK7's are getting older now we are starting to see these pipes blocking up or perishing and breaking where it exits the tailgate. Then, when it rains the water builds up if the pipe is blocked, has nowhere to go and spills into the tailgate, then into the boot of the vehicle. Or if the bottom part of the hose is perished / broken, the water doesnt even build up and overflow, it just poors into the tailgate straightaway. 'Irritating' would be a polite descriptive word for this issue.

To change the pipe, you need to remove the bootlid interior trim. Then disconnect the pipe from the back of the boot lid handle. Remove then reinstall the new pipe and re-attach the bootlid interior trim.
