The 6 bolt pattern flywheel interface on VAG 2.0 TFSI engines can struggle when subjected to high horsepower, this interface when under pressure can allow the flywheel to slip at peak torque, even with ARP Bolts fitted.

This over time wears down the surface putting so much pressure on the interface between the crankshaft and the flywheel, until the bolts fail, taking the flywheel, crankshaft and in some cases the gearbox bell housing along with it.

The EKagrip shim is made with there patented nickel and diamond coating technology which increases the friction on the interface surface by up to 3 times the friction of the interface without the shim fitted. reducing the risk of slipping and causing damage on your high horsepower build (anything producing over 450lbft)

The shims are thin enough to not cause any alignment/fitment issues between the crankshaft and the flywheel, this is a true fit and forget modification.
