The inlet cam is more commonly known as a problem area on the EA113 2.0 TFSI engine due to the damage caused by wear and tear and camshaft follower failure/lack of replacement.
Whilst the exhaust camshaft failing is incredibly rare in comparison to the inlet, if you are preventatively changing the inlet cam and have the top end of the engine apart it also makes sense to change the exhaust cam for the latest revidsion CDL part, which this is.
