This custom intake kit is a labour of love from AKS to all high powered TFSI owners. The kit starts out as a standard TFSI Pipercross (PK380) intake kit, we then set to work modifying parts of the kit to suit its new requirements to work with either a larger K04 hybrid or a Garrett G series / G30 / GTX etc turbo.

The base Pipercross intake kit features a motorsport-quality-proven, three-layer filter, with an impressive 857cm² surface area supported by galvanised, epoxy-coated mesh ensuring the filter cannot collapse. The filter has a large 180mm external diameter body and a smooth radius aluminium bell mouth specifically designed for optimum airflow from filter to pipe-work. The lightweight aluminium one piece intake pipe is then modified by us to incorperate an integral 80mm MAF housing, which can be scaled to suit larger injectors for those running 450bhp+ by your tuner.

This kit is specially designed alongside the TTE480 K04 Hybrid turbo, and the Nortech Garrett turbo kits. This kit is required for the Norech kit as the supplied Nortech silicone hose is for a 80mm intake kit!

To maximise airspeed the pipe diameter is kept constant through the large radius bends and smoothly tapers to the MAF housing without any stepped joins. The silicone inlet pipe has a relaxed radius bend and is stepped onto the turbo to ensure a smooth transition and to maintain optimum gas speeds. 

The intake features a laser-cut aluminium heat-shield that ensures the filter is well insulated from ambient under-bonnet temps, the shielding is designed to seal against the underneath of the bonnet sound absorber and makes use of the ducting in the factory grill to maximise airflow and prevent heat-soak.

Fitment of this intake without mapping to suit will cause the vehicle to run rough, as the MAF sensor will not be scaled correctly for the larger intake kit until your mapper adjusts this. Bear this in mind before fitting / respective to your mapping dates etc. We adivise to fit these kits only when you are at the point of mapping the car.

The metal pipework is coated in the black / grey finish seen in the image on this listing, and for the advertised price is only available in this colour. However, we can arrange for the pipework to be powdercoated in other colours upon special request, at a further cost. As we mention, the kit starts life as a Pipercross PK380 kit so you get that kits heatshield, air filter & silicone joiner for the intake. The hardpipe pipe you recieve is modified by us to have the new 80mm MAF housing area added, and then the silicone joiner / fittings you require for the dropdown option you choose.
